Base Salary

$140k - $170k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve multi-board firmware architecture for reliable operation, remote management, and diagnostics across multiple products.
  • Design and implement firmware for electromechanical systems, including sensor integration, control algorithms, and low-level hardware-software interaction.
  • Partner with hardware engineers on product bring-up, architectural decisions, machine performance, and functionality.
  • Build internal tools for R&D, product development, and manufacturing to monitor, control, and validate systems.
  • Lead triage and root-cause analysis of platform and system-level issues affecting new and existing products.
  • Drive unit-test frameworks, build automation, CI/CD, hardware-in-the-loop validation, and firmware testing capabilities.
  • Apply AI to embedded development, code generation, testing, debugging, and firmware tooling while helping define responsible adoption practices.
  • Lead code and design reviews, establish strong validation practices, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on industry experience developing, releasing, and supporting production-quality firmware.
  • Advanced proficiency in embedded C and embedded C++ targeting ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
  • Deep experience with bare-metal and RTOS-based applications controlling electromechanical systems.
  • Experience owning the full product lifecycle from board bring-up through production release and field support.
  • Experience architecting firmware systems and balancing reliability, maintainability, and development speed.
  • Strong hardware/firmware debugging experience at the board and system level using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
  • Proficiency with version control, build automation, and unit testing.
  • Hands-on experience with serial communication protocols including UART, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, DSI, and CSI.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.
  • Experience with Android Open Source Project or embedded Linux is a plus.
  • Familiarity with LTE or WiFi is a plus.
  • Experience in rapidly growing or scaling companies is a plus.
  • Ability to work in the office at least three days per week.
