Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term vision and multi-year strategy for Coupa’s backend .NET architecture.
- Lead migration of legacy monoliths to scalable, cloud-native microservices.
- Provide enterprise-wide technical leadership and counsel on critical projects and architectural decisions.
- Establish best practices for REST and GraphQL services, microservice orchestration, data transport, and platform monitoring.
- Evaluate and implement technologies for distributed computing, Kafka-based asynchronous messaging, and AI/ML platform integration.
- Coordinate delivery of complex backend services across multiple engineering departments and product teams.
- Mentor Senior and Lead engineers and serve as a subject matter expert across backend engineering specialties.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience in an enterprise-grade B2B SaaS environment, including significant leadership and architectural responsibilities.
- Deep expertise in C# and the modern .NET ecosystem, including .NET 8/10.
- Extensive experience designing and scaling API-driven services and event-driven microservice architectures.
- Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and high-throughput transaction processing.
- Expertise in SQL Server, NoSQL, relational database management, query optimization, and large-scale data processing under heavy concurrent loads.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority and align senior leadership on complex technical decisions.
- Track record of converting ambiguous business problems into structured, resilient technical solutions.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
