Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated coding interactions end to end.
- Judge whether agent responses are useful, broadly correct, and aligned with strong engineering judgment.
- Assess the quality of explanations, reasoning, preambles, and guidance provided by AI coding agents.
- Distinguish between different levels of response quality and define what makes an interaction excellent.
- Provide clear, direct, and opinionated feedback on what worked, what failed, and what felt misleading.
- Help establish quality standards for interactions with tools such as Cursor.
Requirements
- Staff- or Principal-level software engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Strong background in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python.
- Hands-on experience using OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor.
- Deep familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows.
- Ability to evaluate code without fully executing it or deeply reviewing every line.
- Strong engineering judgment and comfort making subjective but rigorous assessments.
- High standards for effective engineering communication and developer trust.
- Experience with AI-first IDEs, prompt design, evaluation workflows, mentoring senior engineers, or defining engineering standards is preferred.
