Base Salary
$168k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement APIs, systems integrations, and backend services
- Help design a next-generation platform unifying time tracking, time off, leave management, shift scheduling, and project tracking
- Build compliance capabilities for overtime, labor law, and pay rules across more than 50 jurisdictions
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to scope, design, and build features
- Promote engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship
- Implement observability and monitoring practices across services
- Compartmentalize and secure extremely sensitive data
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional hands-on experience
- Expertise in backend systems
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Experience modeling complex real-world problems with robust data models and systems
- Experience supporting other engineers and acting as a tech lead
- Experience using Agile/Scrum methodology in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a high-growth environment with deadlines and milestones
- Ruby on Rails experience is helpful but not required
