Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support Amazon OpenSearch Service managing thousands of search domains.
- Improve scalability, performance, robustness, automation, optimization, and cost efficiency for distributed cloud systems.
- Apply scientific analysis and mathematical modeling to predict and evaluate design and platform outcomes.
- Collaborate with operations teams to support smooth 24x7 operation of the worldwide service.
- Help define the vision and objectives for Amazon OpenSearch Service in line with business and market needs.
- Mentor other software development engineers and advise leadership on technical vision.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 3 years of experience with big-data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR, or Storm/Samza.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development life-cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
