Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance scalable UI and API test automation frameworks and reusable testing components.
- Create, configure, execute, and monitor automated test suites, quality gates, parallel execution, environment validation, and system-level integration testing.
- Write resilient automated tests for critical functional requirements and maintain testing tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze, debug, and troubleshoot issues across applications, APIs, automation frameworks, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Create test plans, define automation strategies, establish quality metrics, dashboards, and KPIs, and improve Quality Engineering practices.
- Estimate testing work, deliver automation for features and small feature sets, and contribute to process improvement and engineering excellence.
- Mentor junior QA engineers, conduct code reviews, share technical knowledge, and guide automation and testing practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline.
- Six to eight years of relevant experience.
- Strong programming experience with TypeScript or JavaScript, with Java experience also referenced for automation work.
- Experience with UI test automation using Selenium, Playwright, and WebDriverIO.
- Experience testing APIs and automating tests with Karate, Rest Assured, or Playwright.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, test design, testing methodologies, and Quality Engineering practices.
- Experience writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using tools including Cucumber, Playwright, and Selenium.
- Understanding of the infrastructure needed to run large distributed web applications and the ability to make technology choices based on experience.
- Ability to work independently, estimate development and testing tasks, troubleshoot complex problems, collaborate cross-functionally, and mentor junior engineers.
