Responsibilities
- Own the product as one system, integrating perception, motion, controls, and conveyance.
- Define interfaces, data flow, and sequencing across the system.
- Work with existing modules to build and integrate the new product.
- Establish a common module backbone for perception AI and cloud infrastructure.
- Build the production software backbone for device communication and data pipelines.
- Design and build optics for capturing required scenes across product inputs.
- Develop models for actionable data from captured images.
- Integrate PLC, motion, robot, and I/O into the control system.
- Commission, calibrate, and validate the system on-site.
- Deploy at customer sites and iterate based on performance.
Requirements
- Minimum B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in Python and experienced in architecting production software.
- Experience in bringing up industrial automation systems end-to-end.
- Hands-on experience with robotics middleware like ROS/ROS2 and PLC platforms.
- Generalist mindset willing to cross software, controls, and electromechanical boundaries.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage, high-ownership environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Austin, TX.
