Base Salary
$173k - $233k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship AI agents, APIs, and applications on Affirm’s internal platform using Snowpark Container Services and Quicksilver.
- Own the full lifecycle of systems, including architecture, containerization, networking, secrets, deployment, monitoring, and production maintenance.
- Translate People Operations requirements into production systems integrating Workday, Notion, and case management tools.
- Navigate security and data governance controls for employee data across Workday, Snowflake, and case management systems.
- Design reliability infrastructure for multi-model LLM services, including structured output validation, fallback chains, circuit breakers, and hallucination quality controls.
- Contribute to the shared Python codebase, dbt models, and Snowflake infrastructure.
- Diagnose and fix production issues in systems owned by the team.
- Work directly with non-technical stakeholders to scope problems and assess AI capabilities and constraints.
Requirements
- Production software engineering experience building, deploying, and maintaining applications.
- Understanding of version control, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and production operations.
- Systems thinking and the ability to make architecture decisions across databases, APIs, authentication, hosting, and deployment pipelines.
- Comfort with Python and the ability to read code, evaluate trade-offs, and identify technical issues.
- Experience creating and shipping systems or tools from loosely defined problems.
- Ability to understand non-technical stakeholder needs and translate between business requirements and technical solutions.
