Base Salary
$102k - $163k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and AWS enterprise applications for Medicare and Medicaid claims processing.
- Define end-to-end solution architecture, application components, data flows, and integration patterns for claims adjudication and payer workflows.
- Provide technical leadership for secure, maintainable, resilient microservices-based architectures.
- Develop and optimize SQL, PL/SQL, and MySQL data models, queries, and stored procedures.
- Lead integrations across claims platforms, rules engines, eligibility systems, payment gateways, and healthcare interfaces.
- Translate payer requirements and regulatory changes into technical specifications with product, business, and operations stakeholders.
- Coordinate hybrid engineering delivery, manage technical risks, support sprint execution, and promote engineering quality.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis, platform stability, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure secure handling of protected health information through application controls, encryption, access management, and healthcare compliance practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 12 years of software engineering experience, including senior, lead, or architecture-focused experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and cloud-native application development.
- Deep AWS expertise spanning compute, storage, networking, observability, and resilient application architecture.
- Advanced SQL, PL/SQL, and MySQL skills, including data modeling, stored procedures, and query performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, payer workflows, claims processing, and healthcare regulatory considerations.
- Experience with event-driven integrations, messaging patterns, and enterprise system interfaces.
- Ability to lead hybrid engineering teams, influence technical decisions, and deliver complex enterprise solutions.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Preferred experience includes rules engines, claim editing platforms, payment integrity, front-end frameworks, performance engineering, capacity planning, cloud cost optimization, healthcare payer modernization, and large-scale transaction processing.
