Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop basic to complex systems and programs using structured programming techniques and programming languages.
  • Design and code systems, programs, and interfaces; develop and maintain databases; and create system and program flows.
  • Create documentation and reports, analyze files, and map data between systems.
  • Write and execute unit test plans, resolve processing issues, and support code and system reviews.
  • Participate in all aspects of the Systems Development Life Cycle and follow source control versioning policies.
  • Create ad hoc reports and respond to research questions and requests from internal and external customers.
  • Participate in or lead projects, including estimates, schedules, presentations, and implementation support.
  • At senior and lead levels, independently develop complex systems, mentor junior programmers, and support technology planning.
  • For assigned Programmer II and III roles, facilitate SCRUM activities including sprint planning, retrospectives, demos, backlog support, and team coordination.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED in a general field of study is required.
  • At least 1 year of computer or information technology experience is required for Level 1; higher levels require 3, 5, or 7 years.
  • Programming, query design, and database development experience is required for Levels 2 through 4, ranging from 1 to 4 years.
  • Project management experience is required for Levels 3 and 4, ranging from 1 to 3 years.
  • Knowledge of query design and ad hoc report creation tools is required.
  • Programming and coding ability must meet the requirements for the applicable level of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, structured programming, data mapping, and testing is required.
  • Strong analytical, communication, prioritization, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills are required.
