Base Salary
$190k - $322k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead hardware, software, and algorithms architecture for real-time video processing, image sensors, and intra-body illumination systems.
- Integrate cameras, image sensors, FPGA/ISP components, and vision-processing pipelines into multi-processor embedded architectures.
- Evaluate embedded vision software architecture trade-offs through technical deep dives, proof-of-concept development, and rapid iteration.
- Lead camera and image-sensor bring-up and evaluate advanced camera-pipeline video-processing algorithms.
- Diagnose and debug vision systems end-to-end across sensors, optics, video pipelines, and software.
- Develop illumination control functions, conduct subsystem risk analyses, and create software mitigations for potential failures.
- Design simulation environments and hardware/software diagnostic tools for development, debugging, and testing.
- Develop, document, verify, and validate embedded vision software and supervisory state machines in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Extend video and vision software frameworks to new hardware platforms.
- Mentor and guide engineers across the vision team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field.
- At least 12 years of embedded-systems development and support experience with significant video, imaging, or vision focus, or 8 years with a master's degree or 5 years with a PhD.
- Fluency designing and developing mission-critical cross-platform C/C++ code for embedded, real-time, Linux-based systems.
- Experience with application-level and driver-level development for multi-core and multi-processor architectures.
- Deep familiarity integrating cameras, image sensors, vision-processing pipelines, hardware, software, and algorithm interfaces.
- Experience diagnosing complex vision-system issues through root-cause investigation and cross-functional collaboration.
- Direct experience with cameras, light sensors, video or graphics hardware, sensor bring-up, configuration, and integration.
- Fluency with image-processing concepts, camera-pipeline video-processing algorithms, and video-processing frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for diagnostics, automation, and testing.
- Experience across product development activities including design, documentation, implementation, debugging, verification, validation, and manufacturing transfer.
- Preferred qualifications include CUDA, ML, FPGA integration, Vivado or other FPGA tools, TCP/IP, CAN, serialization protocols, regulated-industry or mission-critical product development, rapid prototyping, and medical technology project leadership.
- Ability to mentor employees at all levels.
