Responsibilities
- Design and maintain automated API tests for REST services built with Spring Boot across functional, regression, and integration scenarios.
- Build and maintain test automation frameworks using Karate, JUnit, TestNG, or similar tools.
- Improve service testability through shift-left testing and engineering partnership.
- Validate end-to-end outcomes through database testing with advanced SQL, including joins, aggregations, window functions, and subqueries.
- Execute and automate performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or Locust, analyze results, and recommend fixes.
- Integrate automated testing into Jenkins and Spinnaker CI/CD pipelines with quality gates, reporting, and failure triage.
- Partner with platform and runtime teams to validate deployments and test execution in Kubernetes and cloud environments.
Requirements
- Strong experience with REST API automation for Spring Boot services.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks such as Karate, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Strong SQL skills for database validation, including joins, aggregations, window functions, and subqueries.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, including execution, reporting, and troubleshooting failures.
- Experience working in Kubernetes-based, containerized environments.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language: Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience across system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Preferred experience with Java for service-side testing and integrations, including REST or gRPC with Spring Boot.
- Preferred knowledge of resiliency, security, CI/CD, quality engineering patterns, SDLC, and release governance.
- Preferred experience with performance engineering, workload modeling, bottleneck analysis, latency profiling, data analysis, reporting, and AI-enabled productivity approaches.
