Responsibilities
- Design, build, and improve production-grade AI/ML software and enterprise AI capabilities.
- Own AI subsystems including agentic workflows, LLM applications, evaluation pipelines, model-serving platforms, and MLOps tooling.
- Build scalable, maintainable, secure, high-performance APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Develop multi-agent orchestration, tool-use, planning, RAG, prompt-engineering, and multi-step AI workflows.
- Deploy and operate applications using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and stakeholders on requirements, architecture, delivery, and integration.
- Conduct code reviews, promote engineering quality, mentor junior engineers, and guide technical assignments.
- Identify and mitigate risks, strengthen controls, and contribute to governance, policy, and technology communities.
- Develop or contribute to evaluation frameworks, AI safety controls, model governance, security practices, and inference optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years building AI/ML systems, scalable ML infrastructure, or model-serving platforms at enterprise scale.
- Strong proficiency in Python with FastAPI and asyncio, and/or Go or Java, with production experience building high-throughput, low-latency APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience developing agentic AI systems and LLM applications, including multi-agent orchestration, tool use, planning frameworks, and deployment of multi-step workflows.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG architectures, Strands, LangGraph, Google ADK, model serving with vLLM, and OpenAI-compatible APIs.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, cloud platforms, REST, gRPC, OpenAPI, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2/EKS, S3, IAM, RDS, and at least one of Bedrock or SageMaker.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, CloudFormation or Terraform, OpenTelemetry, and distributed tracing.
- Ability to take system designs from ideation through completion with limited supervision and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience includes agent evaluation and benchmarking, reasoning traces, vector databases, knowledge graphs, semantic search, memory systems, AI safety controls, AI security frameworks, model fine-tuning, responsible AI, Zero Trust, identity systems, financial services, and GPU inference optimization.
