Responsibilities
- Design, build, and run LLM-powered features and services from prototype through monitored production.
- Build RAG pipelines using ingestion, chunking, embeddings, search, and ranking over product and support knowledge.
- Develop agentic workflows and tool integrations that safely interact with APIs, ticketing systems, and business data.
- Integrate AI services with Java backend services, APIs, and Oracle databases.
- Build evaluation suites, test sets, metrics, and regression checks for AI features.
- Engineer prompts, context, guardrails, privacy controls, access controls, and cost management.
- Monitor and continuously improve AI feature quality, latency, token cost, and failure modes.
- Collaborate with support, product, operations, and the Italian development team to turn use cases into usable tools.
- Participate in code reviews, document learnings, and help developers adopt AI-assisted development.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and shipping LLM-based applications to real users.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, tool use or function calling, and structured outputs.
- Practical RAG experience with embeddings, vector or hybrid search, chunking strategies, and retrieval-quality assessment.
- Solid software engineering experience in Python and/or Java, including clean, tested, maintainable code in an existing Java backend.
- Experience with APIs, JSON, authentication, and integrations with existing business systems.
- Strong SQL and relational database skills; Oracle experience is preferred, with PostgreSQL or MySQL accepted.
- Experience systematically evaluating AI output using test sets, metrics, and regression checks.
- Strong problem-solving, independent working, collaboration, and professional-level English communication skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and fast-paced delivery cycles.
- Preferred experience includes agent frameworks and protocols, vector databases or search engines, LLM observability and evaluation tools, Spring technologies, containers, cloud platforms, AI security, identity and authentication technologies, and frontend development.
