Responsibilities
- Define and gain consensus for the 3–5 year technical vision for Okta’s core UI platform.
- Identify and resolve systemic technical issues and architectural debt across the R&D organization.
- Serve as the final authority on critical architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Provide mentorship and sponsorship for initiatives led by Staff and Senior Staff engineers.
- Establish architectural standards and best practices for developer experience and quality.
- Lead technical due diligence on strategic decisions impacting engineering focus.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Expertise in software architecture and implementation with a strong background in Java, Python, or C++.
- Significant experience with frameworks such as Spring, React.js, or Node.js.
- Strong grasp of software engineering designs, principles, and practices.
- Excellent communication skills to distill complex concepts into simple narratives.
- Experience as part of a platform team treating developers as customers.
