Responsibilities
- Design test architecture for safety- and security-critical embedded software supporting Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Develop and maintain automated tests and engineering tools, including tools written in Python.
- Promote reliable automated test engineering through robust design patterns, processes, and tooling.
- Coordinate with Agile teams and monitor and improve team health, predictability, and velocity.
- Partner with development, functional test, system test, architecture, continuous integration, and release teams to meet product requirements.
- Mentor less experienced personnel and encourage knowledge sharing across the development community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
- Typically five years of software engineering experience with professional development in software design, testware, tool development, and software development.
- Preferred qualifications include a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; embedded test architecture experience; Python development; experience with IEC 61508 or IEC 62443; industrial protocol experience, especially Common Industrial Protocol; and prior technical leadership in Agile environments.
- Knowledge of software engineering principles and practices, safety and security standards, and industrial automation environments is preferred.
