Responsibilities
- Design, code, and debug source code and scripts.
- Document, suggest, and design solutions based on requirements.
- Participate in requirements-gathering phases of development projects.
- Participate in code reviews as needed.
- Occasionally support production lottery systems as an engineering expert.
- Lead and mentor other engineers while working independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an acceptable equivalent.
- 10+ years of programming experience, preferably on a large-scale transaction-processing system.
- Experience with procedural application development in C on Linux.
- Low-level programming and debugging with C and C++.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and architecture.
- Experience with shared memory, memory mapping, data structures, and binary serialization.
- Experience with Proc SQL, BASH shell scripting, and Unix tools including awk, sed, tail, head, and grep.
- Experience with version control systems and multithreaded development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, along with a record of employment stability.
- Preferred experience with JSON/XML parsing, System V IPC, OpenSSL encryption/decryption, gSOAP, PostgreSQL, Java, Ruby, ANSI SQL, SQL Server, T-SQL, TCP/IP socket programming with proprietary protocols, and C/C++ RESTful consumers.
