Responsibilities
- Lead multi-quarter frontend and visualization initiatives from problem framing through rollout, including user feedback and outcome measurement.
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and technical guidance.
- Participate in on-call, incident response, and post-incident learning for supported services.
- Provide technical support during customer escalations and identify product friction areas.
- Represent the squad in cross-team discussions, write design proposals, run demos, and advocate for the roadmap.
- Build and evolve Grafana visualizations and contribute to open-source software.
Requirements
- Experience leading technical teams or projects, mentoring engineers, and serving as a technical force multiplier.
- Experience operating software in production, participating in on-call, supporting customers, and responding to incidents.
- Ability to build production software and independently solve complex engineering problems.
- Strong communication skills for a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
- User-focused and pragmatic approach using short feedback loops, MVPs, measurement, and iteration.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and frameworks and a practical approach to delivering reliable solutions.
- Interest in contributing to the Grafana community.
- Preferred: open-source contribution or maintainership experience.
- Preferred: interest or experience in observability, including Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, or Tempo.
- Preferred: experience working in fully remote, globally distributed teams.
