Responsibilities
- Develop maintainable, readable features and improvements in React and TypeScript.
- Own features end-to-end across the UI, BFF, and asynchronous jobs that feed them.
- Integrate the UI with backend services and help shape APIs and API contracts.
- Contribute to UI architecture, state-boundary, design, and technical decisions.
- Build and maintain Node.js/Fastify BFF endpoints for UI-specific data shaping.
- Design retry-safe and idempotent BullMQ workflows for long-running analyses and reflect job status clearly in the UI.
- Build fast and reliable data-heavy reporting views using virtualization, pagination, and appropriate backend aggregation.
- Use AI-assisted development tools with judgment, critically review generated code, and own correctness, security, testing, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with backend, product, and data teams to break down work, estimate tasks, and deliver incrementally.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and improvements to existing codebases.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on frontend development experience with strong React and TypeScript skills.
- Experience owning frontend features end-to-end in a production product with clear separation of concerns and safe typing across API boundaries.
- Strong understanding of frontend performance and scalability, including re-render costs, virtualization, pagination, and progressive loading.
- Experience integrating with backend services and designing API contracts.
- Comfort working with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude CLI, Claude Code, or AI coding assistants.
- Experience with Node.js and any framework such as Express or Fastify, with 3+ years of Node.js experience.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills and comfort improving existing codebases.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience with Vite, async or queue-based workflows, BullMQ, analytical or columnar data, DuckDB, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
