Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive system design, architecture, and technical direction for team projects
- Write production code and establish technical quality through hands-on contribution
- Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and technical guidance without formal management responsibility
- Partner with Product to translate roadmap priorities into technical plans
- Identify and resolve technical risk, technical debt, and cross-team dependencies
- Establish and evolve engineering best practices, standards, and tooling
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including leading technical direction on a team
- Deep hands-on production experience with Python, React, and TypeScript
- Strong architecture and system design experience in a fast-moving environment
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising a team’s technical bar through code review and example
- Ability to align technical decisions with product and business goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Healthcare, supply chain, or other complex regulated-domain experience is preferred
- Experience scaling systems or engineering practices in an early-stage startup is preferred
