Responsibilities
- Build and configure development tools and infrastructure.
- Automate and improve development, release, deployment, and support processes.
- Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure established development processes are followed.
- Define and maintain DevOps development, testing, release, update, and support processes.
- Monitor operational processes, improve adherence, and reduce waste through automation.
- Manage incidents, perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot issues, and fix code bugs.
- Drive compute, storage, virtualization, container, cloud, networking, security, upgrade, and patching strategies for production and non-production environments.
- Lead technical direction for system engineers and SRE engineers responsible for production deployments.
- Maintain large numbers of Linux and UNIX servers and support break-fix resolution, performance tuning, and deployments.
- Develop Oracle database masking tools using Bash scripts and PL/SQL to protect sensitive non-production data.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of infrastructure development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Technical management experience driving a global team of system engineers and SRE engineers.
- Experience with compute strategy, capacity planning, resource allocation, auto scaling, storage management, load balancing, network traffic management, system upgrades, and patching.
- Extensive system administration experience with Red Hat Linux and strong knowledge of Linux, UNIX, and Windows fundamentals.
- Experience managing large-scale VMware virtualized environments, OpenStack, PCF, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, preferably Azure or OCI.
- Scripting experience with Ruby, Perl, and shell or Bash scripting for automation.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, BIND, LDAP, Sendmail, NTP, FCIP, iSCSI, SAN, NAS, and server and network security.
- Experience resolving complex break-fix, performance tuning, deployment, and server health issues.
- Experience with Chef, Puppet, or CfEngine is preferred.
- Knowledge of messaging systems, web services, relational and NoSQL databases, data access technologies, and cloud deployments.
- Experience with Oracle, HBase, MongoDB, and Kafka is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, time-management, collaboration, self-direction, and ability to learn new technologies.
- Understanding of object-oriented analysis and design and ability to translate business requirements into software solutions.
