Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, reusable frameworks and services for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
- Develop and maintain orchestration, data quality validation, schema management, and other core platform capabilities.
- Build self-service features that help data engineers and analysts manage data assets.
- Improve the Data Developer Experience and automate data modeling standards and best practices.
- Evolve the platform architecture for scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Data DevOps Engineers on automation, observability, and CI/CD deployment.
- Contribute to the platform roadmap by identifying and prioritizing high-value features.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with Python or Java.
- Experience building reusable frameworks, libraries, or internal tools.
- Experience with modern cloud database technologies such as Snowflake and Redshift.
- Deep knowledge of SQL and data integration patterns.
- Knowledge of AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, DMS, and RDS.
- Knowledge of data concepts and modeling techniques including Inmon, Kimball, and Data Vault.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience with data engineering for at least 3 years or data platform engineering for at least 1 year.
- A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience with Airflow, APIs, microservices, Terraform, Kafka, and Git is preferred.
