Responsibilities
- Manage database backup and recovery, performance tuning, high availability, configuration, patching, upgrades, and optimization.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement timely remediation.
- Support database security, users, roles, privileges, architecture, networking, administration, and cloud database activities.
- Contribute to database strategy, governance, standards, procedures, documentation, and process improvements.
- Partner with development teams, technology teams, customers, and DBAs to provide database solutions and communicate recommendations.
- Plan and coordinate technical efforts, lead initiatives, follow change/problem/incident management processes, and support assigned database technologies.
- Train and mentor junior team members and participate in after-hours and weekend on-call support.
Requirements
- Strong DBA experience with both relational database management systems and NoSQL technologies.
- Experience configuring, patching, upgrading, administering, securing, and optimizing database software and related products.
- Experience with database backup and recovery, high availability, replication, performance tuning, architecture, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate technical solutions in business terms, collaborate globally, work independently, and mentor junior staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Data Guard with FSFO, Oracle GoldenGate, PostgreSQL Distributed, and cloud-hosted services is desirable.
- Exposure to Oracle databases, Linux operating systems, and Oracle PL/SQL programming is preferred.
