Base Salary
$80k - $106k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of a Python-based risk analytics architecture and establish coding standards and development best practices.
- Analyze, refactor, and rewrite complex SAS code and macros in Python while preserving model logic and outputs.
- Optimize algorithms and data processing for large datasets, performance, and scalability.
- Implement automated testing to compare Python results with legacy SAS outputs and resolve discrepancies with model validation teams.
- Collaborate with risk analysts, data engineers, model validation specialists, and other stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Mentor team members and facilitate knowledge transfer on Python development practices.
- Maintain technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and code comments to support governance and audits.
- Ensure development follows model risk management policies, quality controls, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of software development experience with a strong focus on Python for data analysis, modeling, or ETL.
- Expert Python programming skills, including experience with pandas and NumPy.
- Experience interpreting or migrating SAS code in data-intensive analytics environments.
- Experience building data-intensive applications or analytics platforms and designing architectures for large datasets.
- Experience integrating applications with databases or data lakes.
- Knowledge of version control, code reviews, unit and integration testing, and continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Experience in regulated industries or risk analytics, including auditability, data governance, and model documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- A master's degree is preferred.
