Base Salary
$83k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data platform automation for provisioning, backups, and user management.
- Troubleshoot complex performance and reliability issues in data systems and serve as an escalation point.
- Improve data streaming services, security, scalability, and automation.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical services.
- Mentor junior engineers on database administration, query optimization, and DBRE principles.
- Research data technologies, propose solutions, and contribute to the technical roadmap.
- Collaborate with customer teams and help engineering teams build high-performance, data-intensive applications.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of applicable experience.
- Strong experience with messaging platforms including Kafka or Redis.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Bash or Python.
- Solid experience with a major cloud provider and its managed offerings, preferably Azure or AWS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: product mindset, empathy for developer customers, scalable data modeling experience, complex technical project delivery, and experience with GitHub Actions or similar pipeline technologies.
