Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test embedded firmware for AI-enabled camera systems using C/C++, including contributing to camera subsystem architecture.
- Integrate and optimize ISP pipelines and video encoding and decoding modules.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to interpret data sheets and achieve low-level hardware-software integration.
- Diagnose and resolve firmware issues involving streaming latency, frame reordering, system crashes, memory bottlenecks, and hardware-software integration using specialized debugging tools.
- Develop unit, integration, and system-level tests in real and simulated camera environments.
- Develop modular, reusable, hardware-independent firmware and embedded software while following testing and coding standards.
- Maintain technical documentation for firmware architectures, interfaces, and debugging procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver stable, scalable camera solutions.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 5+ years of technical experience developing image processing pipelines and video streams, with object-oriented design, multithreaded programming, unit testing, and Linux platform development.
- High proficiency in C/C++ for concurrent systems and experience with preemptive, multithreaded Embedded Linux or Android environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
- Expertise troubleshooting camera-specific issues and profiling CPU, memory, and power performance on embedded SoCs.
- Practical knowledge of schematics, component data sheets, microcontrollers, I2C, SPI, UART, MIPI-CSI, and hardware-software integration on embedded targets.
- Experience or familiarity with Pytest, Robot Framework, Git, SQL, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
