Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead or participate in architecture and code reviews and peer-review code changes.
- Improve system quality, identify recurring issues and patterns, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Enhance and maintain existing applications and codebases.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to implement technical designs.
- Investigate and apply new technologies where relevant.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced developers within projects.
- Lead or participate in additional projects and duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 7.5 years of experience in Java full-stack development.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- 10+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented in Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices.
- Knowledge of at least one shell scripting language.
- Experience working with or integrating Event Bus technologies such as Pulsar and cloud-based big data solutions such as Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience building front ends with React is a plus.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Proven experience in cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Ability to translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
- Ability to operate across business strategy, product strategy, technical design, and implementation levels.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex technical environment and drive results across cross-functional teams.
- Results-oriented, customer-focused approach with the ability to balance short- and long-term product goals.
