Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and written knowledge-transfer materials.
- Review functional requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical specifications.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, code reviews, and technical quality improvements.
- Maintain existing codebases, review peer changes, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Enhance applications by identifying improvement opportunities and designing and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to implement technical designs and deliver project outcomes.
- Investigate and adopt new technologies where relevant.
- Assist customer support with technical problems and questions.
- Mentor less experienced developers and lead project work when required.
- Apply AI-native practices, automation, and engineering toolchains to improve software development and operations.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of experience in Java full-stack development.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- 10+ years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture principles, preferably implemented with Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Understanding of unit, test-driven, functional, and performance testing.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems and data architecture.
- React front-end experience is a plus.
- Experience integrating with event buses such as Pulsar is a plus.
- Experience integrating with cloud-based big-data solutions such as Snowflake is a plus.
- Experience with software security-enhancing tools and best practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data and machine-learning technologies.
- Proven experience with cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Strong understanding of LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to translate AI innovation into business and productivity impact.
- Ability to lead technical direction, work independently, mentor developers, communicate effectively, and collaborate across functions.
