Responsibilities
- Lead Procore’s approach to AI-native engineering, including generative tools and agentic workflows across the software development lifecycle.
- Own the multi-year technical vision and architecture for foundational platform services across web, mobile, API, and agentic surfaces.
- Set company-wide architectural direction, standards, and patterns while resolving high-leverage technical challenges.
- Mentor Staff engineers and develop senior technical talent through architecture reviews, design councils, and technical strategy forums.
- Architect agentic systems, integrate LLMs into software platforms, and promote AI-assisted developer tooling in production.
- Prototype high-impact technical bets, unblock complex initiatives, and author production code and architectural design documents.
- Partner with executives and cross-functional teams to shape product and technology roadmaps and drive technical excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience building and operating large-scale, distributed, full-stack systems.
- Experience operating at a Principal level or equivalent with organization-wide technical scope.
- Deep hands-on expertise with modern technology stacks such as Ruby on Rails, Go, Java, Node.js, Python, React, and TypeScript.
- Mastery of distributed systems design, resilience, and operational scalability.
- Experience architecting agentic systems, integrating LLMs into software platforms, and using AI-assisted developer tooling in production.
- Strong judgment in ambiguous environments, technical prioritization, executive communication, stakeholder influence, and consensus building.
- Experience in enterprise SaaS platforms, microservices ecosystems, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, micro front-end architecture, developer tools, or B2B cloud environments is a strong fit.
