Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB.
- Develop and deploy AI-powered applications, including RAGs and chatbots, using AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain.
- Integrate LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, and other providers into production applications.
- Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of resilient, scalable systems and infrastructure.
- Set technical direction and own complex initiatives end-to-end from inception through deployment and iterative improvement.
- Collaborate with AI researchers, Software Architects, DevOps engineers, and product teams.
- Mentor engineers, establish engineering best practices, and raise the organization’s technical standards.
- Support regulatory compliance, enterprise governance, reliability, observability, performance, and security objectives.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science or Engineering with a focus on software development.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least two years in a Staff or equivalent senior technical leadership role.
- Deep expertise building and scaling distributed systems, frameworks, and internal platforms with a focus on reliability, observability, and performance.
- Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives across teams or domains, with strong system design and trade-off analysis skills.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or experience with additional languages such as NodeJS, Java, or C++.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies, including LLMs, RAGs, and chatbots.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, coding best practices, and software architecture.
- A track record of mentoring engineers and maintaining high standards for code quality and system design.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; Docker and Kubernetes; AI agents; MLOps pipelines and products; and data security and permissioning in AI systems.
- Preferred knowledge of enterprise security concepts including SSO, SSL, encryption, Apigee, authentication, and entitlements.
- Willingness to take on challenges, enthusiasm for learning, and a team-centric attitude.
