Base Salary
$180k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the long-term quality and automation strategy, including frameworks, tooling, coverage, and quality gates.
- Design and implement maintainable integration, UI, and end-to-end automation frameworks.
- Lead test coverage planning with product squads and automate critical functionality.
- Own test pipeline health, speed, reliability, and flaky-test reduction.
- Architect and maintain scalable test environments aligned with customer use cases.
- Optimize test stages and tooling to improve developer velocity and deployment safety.
- Partner with engineering teams to define test strategies and automate testing for new features.
- Lead root-cause analysis and triage of test and product failures.
- Promote testing patterns, testability principles, and quality ownership across engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers in automation best practices, framework design, troubleshooting, and quality ownership.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in test automation or software engineering, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead test engineering role.
- Experience architecting or maintaining large-scale automation frameworks across backend, frontend, and asynchronous systems.
- Fluency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript, with experience using Playwright, Cypress, pytest, or REST API testing frameworks.
- Experience designing automated test suites for FastAPI, Vue.js, and event-driven systems such as Inngest.
- Experience improving CI pipeline reliability in environments using Turborepo, Docker, Vercel, and AWS EKS.
- Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, RDS PostgreSQL, cloud-native infrastructure, and distributed-system testing.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and automation workflow optimization.
- Ability to translate product requirements into executable, multi-layer test strategies.
- Ability to collaborate with Product, Backend, Frontend, and DevOps teams.
- Experience combining technical depth, automation architecture, and leadership influence.
