Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of software features while participating in the full software development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, verify, troubleshoot, and deliver systems or major subsystems, including authoring project specifications.
- Develop and maintain software-defined storage solutions and managed cloud services.
- Perform hands-on coding, bug fixes, updates, specification updates, customer root-cause analyses, and automation.
- Work with block and file technologies, file systems, system/kernel programming, networking, and file or cloud protocols.
- Monitor and analyze system health, availability, latency, performance, and reliability, and implement improvements.
- Participate in production incident management and resolve issues within agreed SLAs/SLOs.
- Mentor junior team members, participate in interviews, and help build high-performance teams.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to deploy features into production.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience with hands-on coding.
- B.E./B.Tech or M.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in C or C++; Python experience is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding and extensive hands-on experience designing and developing solutions using block and file technologies.
- Experience with system/kernel programming and with file systems, networking, or file/cloud protocols.
- Experience with ONTAP or similar storage operating systems.
- Strong data structures and algorithms knowledge.
- Knowledge of hypervisors, cloud storage, and cloud services such as scaling, monitoring, and load balancers is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, coding, design, oral communication, and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn existing code and architecture quickly.
