Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enterprise application features using Java 8 and Java EE/J2EE within an MVC architecture.
- Work with Servlets, EJBs, DAOs, DTOs, JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, SQL, and REST APIs.
- Support applications deployed on WildFly and Apache TomEE and work across MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, DocumentDB, and Neo4j.
- Maintain web interfaces using jQuery, Bootstrap, and DataTables as needed.
- Design, build, and maintain automated UI, REST API, backend, and data-layer test suites.
- Build test automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, Postman/Newman, JUnit, and TestNG.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test data across multiple databases.
- Perform manual and exploratory testing, triage and document defects, and collaborate on root-cause resolution.
- Partner with product, development, and QA teams to define acceptance criteria, test plans, and release quality gates.
- Troubleshoot application, database, integration, and automation issues while following appropriate security and data-handling practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined software development and QA/test automation experience.
- Hands-on Java 8 and Java EE/J2EE application development experience.
- Working knowledge of MVC architecture, EJBs, Servlets, JPA/Hibernate, JDBC, and DAO/DTO patterns.
- Experience building and testing REST APIs.
- Experience building test automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured, or similar tools, and writing tests with JUnit or TestNG.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience, preferably with MySQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Git and GitHub.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn complex business and technical domains.
- PLM systems experience and experience in regulated industries such as life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food and beverage, cosmetics, or manufacturing are desirable.
- Experience with formula, recipe, ingredient, product specification, or regulatory data is desirable.
- Performance/load testing experience with JMeter, BDD experience with Cucumber, AWS exposure, and experience with WildFly, JBoss, or TomEE are desirable.
