Responsibilities
- Architect and implement solutions for internal and external customers using ByteDance’s globally scaled CDN.
- Build metrics, tools, automation, visualizations, and monitoring systems for edge-service operations and optimization.
- Develop procedures and workflows that improve efficiency, trust, and compliance across operational processes.
- Conduct vulnerability and capacity assessments and develop disaster recovery strategies for high availability.
- Participate in technical operations and on-call rotations to address performance and reliability issues.
Requirements
- Be completing or have recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Be proficient in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, or Go, or scripting languages such as Shell and Python.
- Experience with multi-CDN environments is preferred.
- Experience with TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS in carrier-grade environments or prior CDN experience is preferred.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and building automation and tools for large-scale systems is preferred.
- Experience developing and operating systems such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, Nginx, IPVS, ELK Stack, or Hadoop is preferred.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, self-direction, and project delivery capabilities.
