Responsibilities
- Design and build Go microservices, relational schemas, migrations, and API-first services for the multi-tenant k0rdent-ai platform.
- Own features end to end across API contracts, services, schemas, orchestration, tests, and Helm packaging.
- Implement durable Temporal workflows with idempotency, retries, timeouts, and determinism constraints.
- Design versioned public REST APIs with OpenAPI and support generated multi-language SDKs.
- Build event-driven asynchronous communication using streaming or message-broker platforms.
- Implement OIDC/JWT authentication, tenant-scoped RBAC, service-to-service authorization, gateway routing, and rate limiting.
- Extend identity capabilities with SCIM provisioning and unify platform permissions with Kubernetes RBAC.
- Package and ship services with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
- Instrument production services with structured logging, metrics, and audit trails.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; review code and debug incidents to root cause.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead architectural and design discussions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years building production backend services with Go.
- Strong Go fundamentals, including concurrency, context propagation, error wrapping, and standard-library HTTP routing.
- Deep relational database experience covering schema design, migrations, transactions, and query tuning under multi-tenant load.
- Experience designing versioned REST APIs for external clients and generating SDKs from them.
- Production experience with Temporal is required, along with durable or event-driven asynchronous systems and idempotent retry semantics.
- Knowledge of OIDC, JWT validation, RBAC modeling, multi-tenant isolation, IAM platforms, and API gateways.
- Working Kubernetes knowledge, including deploying, inspecting, and debugging workloads and reasoning about Kubernetes RBAC.
- Experience with unit and integration testing, Git-based workflows, code review, and CI/CD using GitHub Actions or an equivalent.
- Experience mentoring engineers, leading design discussions, and writing clear asynchronous design documentation across time zones.
- Experience developing multi-tenant SaaS or PaaS platforms and with Cluster API, Kubernetes controllers, or operators.
- Experience with Keycloak, API gateway operation, PostgreSQL at scale, migration toolchains, and Docker/Helm-packaged Kubernetes services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or 10 years of related experience.
- Preferred qualifications include k0s ecosystem experience, GPU or AI/ML workload scheduling on Kubernetes, SCIM provisioning, sqlc, OpenAPI code generation, observability tooling, Python or TypeScript, security engineering practices, and CNCF open-source contributions.
