Base Salary
$140k - $372k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, ship, and support scalable, maintainable software across multiple GitHub services.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing, code reviews, and guidance on extensible code and system integration.
- Own system health and quality, including participation in on-call first-responder rotations and live incident response.
- Write architecture briefs and proposals, conduct code experiments, and automate repeatable engineering processes.
- Design and implement APIs and CI/CD pipelines for integration and continuous delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders on technical solutions, architecture, and cost considerations.
- Guide testing plans, success metrics, customer feedback integration, and compliance with security and architecture standards.
- Use debugging tools and telemetry to resolve issues and improve performance and maintainability.
- Support technical roadmaps aligned with product goals and maintain operational excellence across teams.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of software engineering or related technical experience with production software delivery and coding experience, or an associate degree plus 8 years, bachelor’s degree plus 7 years, master’s degree plus 5 years, doctorate plus 3 years, or equivalent experience.
- Production coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
- Preferred experience with large-scale system architecture, cloud-based environments, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Preferred experience with scripting languages, front-end frameworks, databases, search systems, telemetry dashboards, cloud environments, or CNCF concepts.
- Preferred experience operating large-scale API platforms, GraphQL infrastructure, queuing systems, or streaming systems.
