Responsibilities
- Develop APIs using Python and object-oriented programming.
- Design and implement distributed asynchronous systems that avoid data conflicts across multiple machines and immutable environments.
- Define, develop, test, and release new features with the lead functional developer.
- Design test scripts and provide testing, project guidance, and planning support.
- Provide workarounds and bug fixes for urgent production issues.
- Advise on functional and technical problems involving assigned applications and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and external parties.
- Mentor junior staff.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of large-scale application architecture and design.
- Experience with Python API development and object-oriented programming.
- Experience designing distributed asynchronous systems and avoiding data conflicts in multi-machine environments.
- Experience with SQL databases and Oracle.
- Experience with Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure or AWS, and GitHub, or comparable message broker systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, coding, testing, and automation skills.
- Experience with at least one strongly typed programming language is preferred.
- Familiarity with DevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment.
- Must be able to work independently within defined projects or work streams.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent US Resident.
