Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship for DevOps and platform engineering across SpheraCloud products, core platform initiatives, and AI initiatives.
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines with integrated code-quality and security scanning, repository permissions, pipeline permissions, access controls, and approval enforcement.
- Design, build, and maintain cloud deployment automation supporting autoscaling, blue/green and canary delivery, and one-click rollback.
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and operate Azure workloads using Docker, Azure Container Apps, Azure Web Apps, and Function Apps.
- Operate Azure API Management, Elasticsearch, and Databricks for reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Build and operate infrastructure and pipelines for AI, machine learning, and data workloads, including MLOps deployment, model serving, monitoring, and cost tracking.
- Partner with Engineering, Security, NOC, and FinOps teams on network and firewall changes, observability, compliance, incident readiness, and cloud-cost optimization.
- Develop internal developer platforms, self-service capabilities, golden paths, and developer tooling; automate system administration, provisioning, maintenance, and disaster recovery.
- Establish business-focused KPIs and SLOs and use reliability and performance metrics to drive operational improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated technical leadership or mentorship on complex, cross-team initiatives, along with strong communication, collaboration, analytical, reliability, and performance-improvement skills.
- Proven experience building and optimizing CI/CD for an Azure-based SaaS application with SonarCloud and Black Duck or comparable integrated scanning.
- Experience configuring and enforcing repository and pipeline permissions and hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Strong Terraform infrastructure-as-code experience and proficiency with the Azure CLI.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience building and operating Docker workloads on Azure Container Apps, Azure Web Apps, and Function Apps.
- Experience operating Azure API Management, Databricks, and Elasticsearch, plus managing network and firewall configurations and change-request processes.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft/Windows and Linux server environments, Git-based version-control workflows, secure-by-design practices, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, and local and wide-area networking technologies.
- Preferred experience includes production AI/ML or generative-AI workloads, Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, ML frameworks, GPU compute, vector databases, RAG architectures, platform engineering, Kubernetes, observability tools, Jenkins, Octopus, Ansible, data platforms, and relevant Azure certifications.
