Senior Platform Engineer (3 Month FTC)
AND DigitalResponsibilities
- Define and evolve the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for an AWS cloud platform.
- Design and build scalable, secure, resilient, and reusable platform capabilities.
- Develop self-service tooling and services that improve developer productivity and reduce operational complexity.
- Drive automation across infrastructure, software delivery, operational processes, and platform lifecycle management.
- Establish platform standards, engineering patterns, paved roads, guardrails, and best practices.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, observability, and operational efficiency.
- Lead complex platform initiatives from discovery and architectural design through implementation and operational adoption.
- Influence engineering teams and senior stakeholders on platform strategy, architecture, and technology choices.
- Mentor engineers and promote strong platform engineering practices and technical knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Significant experience designing and operating internal developer platforms at scale.
- Experience building reusable platform services, tooling, and self-service capabilities using platform-as-a-product principles.
- Strong experience designing highly available, scalable, resilient cloud-native architectures.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, networking, identity, and security.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, automated cloud provisioning, CI/CD, and automated software delivery.
- Experience designing for resilience, fault tolerance, observability, and operational excellence.
- Experience applying SRE principles, performance analysis, capacity planning, scalability engineering, monitoring, alerting, and service-level objectives.
- Experience providing technical leadership across multiple engineering teams or a wider engineering organization.
- Ability to influence architecture and technical direction, lead complex initiatives through ambiguity, and mentor senior and developing engineers.
