Responsibilities
- Analyze system specifications, requirements, and use cases and convert them into low-level specifications and system design plans.
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve complex software and core platform services supporting insurance rating, eligibility, product data, and policy transactions.
- Identify system dependencies and document design decisions, assumptions, code modules, and performance metrics.
- Define, conduct, or participate in unit and system integration testing.
- Lead or participate in development walkthroughs and collaborate on system flows, data usage, and automated or manual processes.
- Estimate software solution size and work efforts and support integration and migration strategies.
- Ensure software meets programming, design, performance, quality, and security standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of AWS-backed Java software development experience.
- Experience building applications with Spring Boot, Python, and SQL.
- Experience developing complex software or systems using one or more programming languages.
- Knowledge of application architecture, design alternatives, development standards, systems development life cycle, and integration technologies.
- Experience establishing, using, and supporting integration and communications technologies between applications, databases, and technology platforms.
- Experience writing and modeling application system designs and program specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to provide customer-driven solutions, communicate technical information, and analyze and estimate software project work.
- Insurance industry experience is an additional qualification.
- AI proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude Code is an additional qualification.
- Travel requirements may be up to 10%.
