Responsibilities
- Design and own batch and real-time pipelines for bid requests, win/loss events, impressions, clicks, and conversions at scale.
- Build and maintain lakehouse ingestion, storage, and serving layers for low-latency DSP analytics and ML feature generation.
- Own StarRocks deployment, including schema design, ingestion patterns, and analytical query optimization.
- Establish data quality, lineage, observability, SLA, governance, metadata, access-control, PII, and retention standards.
- Drive FinOps practices by tracking platform costs, enforcing quotas, optimizing resources, and reporting unit economics.
- Contribute to backend DSP services for bid shading, pacing, budget management, and reporting APIs.
- Design event schemas and data contracts and promote API reliability, tracing, logging, metrics, circuit breakers, and retries.
- Support low-latency bidder lookups using Aerospike, Cassandra, or similar data stores.
- Lead architecture reviews, engineering standards, roadmap planning, capacity planning, migrations, and build-versus-buy decisions.
- Mentor SDE II/III engineers and collaborate with ML engineers on feature pipelines, training data, experiment tracking, and model serving.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Deep expertise with distributed stream processing frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Apache Spark Structured Streaming.
- Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing complex analytical queries at petabyte scale.
- Hands-on experience with real-time analytical databases, particularly StarRocks; Snowflake or ClickHouse experience is a plus.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
- Understanding of dimensional modeling, OBT patterns, event-driven schemas, and open table formats such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Apache Hudi.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java/Scala for production services and data-processing jobs.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs or gRPC-based microservices and using Aerospike or Cassandra for low-latency lookups.
- Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or ArgoCD.
- Demonstrated technical leadership on cross-functional projects, strong communication skills, and a record of delivering ambiguous projects to production.
- Ad-tech, programmatic advertising, RTB, ML engineering, feature engineering, offline training pipelines, or model-production experience is preferred.
