Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable backend architectures and APIs for integrations.
- Partner with Product, Integrations, Platform, and external teams to evaluate trade-offs and guide technical direction.
- Identify cross-team technical risks and implement backend process and system improvements.
- Use data and observability insights to make architectural decisions, optimize performance, and measure impact.
- Review backend code and mentor engineers through design feedback, RFCs, and technical guidance.
- Lead significant backend integration initiatives and establish shared engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a backend engineer working on production systems and distributed architectures.
- Proven experience designing scalable APIs, handling failure modes, and managing technical debt in production environments.
- Strong problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to make data-driven architectural decisions and provide technical mentorship.
- Passion for continuous learning, coaching, and team development.
