Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and evolve scalable backend architectures and APIs for integrations.
  • Partner with Product, Integrations, Platform, and external teams to evaluate trade-offs and guide technical direction.
  • Identify cross-team technical risks and implement backend process and system improvements.
  • Use data and observability insights to make architectural decisions, optimize performance, and measure impact.
  • Review backend code and mentor engineers through design feedback, RFCs, and technical guidance.
  • Lead significant backend integration initiatives and establish shared engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience as a backend engineer working on production systems and distributed architectures.
  • Proven experience designing scalable APIs, handling failure modes, and managing technical debt in production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, ownership, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven architectural decisions and provide technical mentorship.
  • Passion for continuous learning, coaching, and team development.
