Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java web applications on Apache Tomcat.
- Build and enhance backend services and RESTful APIs using Jakarta EE and JAX-RS/Jersey.
- Develop dynamic UI components with Kendo UI, jQuery, and JavaScript.
- Optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Implement automated browser testing with Playwright, including locators, asynchronous actions, browser contexts, and Playwright Test Runner configurations.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, performance tuning, and modernization of legacy Java applications.
- Support Docker-based deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows using Maven, Redis, TeamCity, and GitHub Actions.
- Maintain security, scalability, HIPAA compliance, privacy, auditing, and protection of PHI across application components.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in Core Java and enterprise application development, including Jakarta EE, Servlets, JSPs, JDBC, and Apache Tomcat.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful services using JAX-RS/Jersey and with API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Experience with SQL, T-SQL, relational databases, Microsoft SQL Server, stored procedures, and SQL performance tuning.
- Strong frontend development experience with Kendo UI for jQuery, jQuery, JavaScript, DOM manipulation, AJAX, event handling, and MVVM/data binding.
- Proficiency with JSON processing using the Jackson library, including ObjectNode and ArrayNode.
- Strong Playwright proficiency, including selectors, auto-waiting, assertions, browser contexts, page objects, configuration, and CLI flags.
- Understanding of JavaScript ES modules, async/await, Promises, and effective error handling.
- Experience using JetBrains IntelliJ and Junie/JetBrains AI on existing codebases.
- Preferred experience modernizing legacy Java applications, working with microservices architecture, and owning the SDLC end to end.
- Preferred familiarity with healthcare authorization and referral workflows, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, member and provider relationships, HIPAA, PHI, data privacy, auditing, and security.
- Preferred experience with Docker, Tomcat configuration, Maven, Redis, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, dotenv, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
