Responsibilities
- Own and drive the roadmap and implementation for multiple areas of focus.
- Drive technical architecture decisions and system designs.
- Provide technical leadership across teams and collaborate with leadership, product, and engineering teams on strategy.
- Develop and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Use Azure cloud services for deployment and scalability.
- Conduct testing, debugging, and resolution of software defects.
- Create efficient, reliable, high-quality code and optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and large data volumes.
- Build secure crypto-first products supporting payments, transfers, and other traditional financial activity.
- Drive project-wide software engineering and architectural best practices, including infrastructure as code and DevSecOps.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in fintech or payments infrastructure.
- Strong backend skills in one or more of C#, C++, Go, Java, or Python.
- Proficiency in Azure cloud-native development, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
- Knowledge of security concepts including AuthN, AuthZ, SAML, API security, and encryption.
- Understanding of crypto concepts including blockchains, RPCs, and self-custody wallets.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
- Prior engineering leadership experience in a high-growth startup environment is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment.
