Responsibilities
- Own the numerical solutions and algorithms for GoldSim's simulation engine.
- Implement practical improvements to GoldSim's numerical capabilities.
- Build and verify GoldSim models for QA and customer support.
- Document theoretical and practical aspects of numerical methods.
- Collaborate with the software engineering team to integrate new capabilities.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Serve as a technical resource for advanced modeling and numerical questions.
- Identify opportunities to modernize GoldSim's algorithmic infrastructure.
Requirements
- Masters or PhD in science or engineering with outstanding academic performance.
- Broad experience with applied math and numerical methods.
- Background in earth sciences or civil engineering, preferably with contaminant transport modeling.
- Extensive C++ programming experience in scientific or engineering applications.
- Proven ability to design and implement practical numerical solutions.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with team members.
- Experience with Windows desktop applications and data science tools is a plus.
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to scientific or engineering software is a plus.
