Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, scoping, architecture design, implementation, and handoff for GitLab Professional Services engagements.
- Design and deliver GitLab reference architectures in self-managed, cloud, and on-premises environments using infrastructure as code.
- Lead source code management and CI/CD migrations to GitLab, including enterprise migrations using Congregate.
- Deploy and configure GitLab with Terraform, Ansible, and the GitLab Environment Toolkit.
- Provide DevOps and DevSecOps consulting, including guidance on scalability, security, compliance, and delivery frameworks.
- Coordinate implementation work across GitLab employees, partners, and customer stakeholders.
- Create delivery kits, documentation, case studies, presentations, training materials, and enablement sessions.
- Maintain delivery automation assets and validate changes with unit and integration testing.
- Support Statements of Work, technical vetting, staffing assessments, training content, and customer task planning while maintaining 55% billable utilization.
Requirements
- Experience delivering at least two consulting services among source code management migration, cloud architecture, DevOps engineering, and CI/CD consulting.
- Enterprise software development experience with the ability to translate requirements into technical designs and implementation plans.
- Experience designing and implementing reliable, scalable DevOps platforms with performance and security trade-offs.
- Hands-on experience managing cloud and on-premises infrastructure using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Ability to write maintainable automation and integration code, including Terraform modules, Ansible roles, and scripts, and validate it through testing and code review.
- Experience performing migrations to GitLab using Congregate or similar tooling.
- Working knowledge of data consistency and integrity concepts, including ACID properties, and their effects on migration design and performance.
- Strong customer-facing written and verbal communication, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment across teams, partners, customers, and time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or another advanced technical degree, or equivalent experience.
