Responsibilities
- Write production-quality code across core services, platforms, and AI workflows.
- Own high-impact features and system improvements from discovery through launch and post-launch follow-through.
- Lead modernization of legacy systems and migration to scalable, cloud-native architectures.
- Design and evolve microservices, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven integrations.
- Build and orchestrate production-grade agentic AI and LLM systems with tool use, workflow automation, planning, context, memory, guardrails, and human oversight.
- Integrate AI systems with business workflows, APIs, data sources, and event-driven systems while implementing grounding, retrieval, validation, and structured-output strategies.
- Design AI evaluation, monitoring, feedback, safety, privacy, security, and compliance practices.
- Set architectural standards and guide service boundaries, data ownership, integration patterns, and technical tradeoffs across teams.
- Lead project architecture, execution, dependency management, risk mitigation, launch readiness, and stakeholder alignment.
- Establish safe and effective AI-assisted development practices using tools for design, coding, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and system comprehension.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design discussions while raising engineering quality and technical leadership.
- Build and maintain SaaS applications, containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production support practices.
- Partner with product, engineering, security, DevOps/SRE, QA, operations, and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core and modern .NET development.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems, microservices, testing strategies, and production-quality code.
- Hands-on production or production-like experience building AI-driven and agentic AI systems with LLMs, tool/function calling, context and memory management, structured outputs, and workflow orchestration.
- Experience integrating AI systems with datastores, APIs, and event-driven workflows.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, plus working knowledge of NoSQL data stores and caching strategies such as Redis.
- Strong experience with Docker and production containerization, and practical experience with Kubernetes.
- Comfort working in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows.
- Demonstrated success owning complex systems, modernizing legacy technology stacks, leading projects independently, managing technical risks, and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong history of hands-on technical leadership across teams and mentoring or developing engineers.
- Experience with a frontend framework such as React or Angular.
- Preferred experience with Python, Java, TypeScript, message queues, event streaming, workflow orchestration platforms, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic search, AI evaluation harnesses, prompt/version management, safety checks, governance workflows, high-throughput or operationally critical SaaS systems, and Agile/Scrum environments.
