Responsibilities
- Write production-quality code across core services, platforms, and AI workflows.
- Own high-impact features and complete project workstreams from discovery and solution design through delivery, launch readiness, and post-launch follow-through.
- Modernize legacy systems and migrate them incrementally to scalable, cloud-native architectures.
- Design, build, and evolve microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven integrations, SaaS applications, and containerized applications.
- Design and implement agentic AI systems with tool use, multi-step reasoning, workflow automation, task planning, autonomous execution, context propagation, state, memory, guardrails, and policy enforcement.
- Integrate AI systems with business workflows, APIs, data sources, and datastores while implementing grounding, retrieval, validation, structured outputs, evaluation, monitoring, and feedback loops.
- Set architectural standards and guide service boundaries, data ownership, integration patterns, scalability, reliability, correctness, and cost tradeoffs.
- Provide technical leadership across teams, coordinate architecture and execution, manage dependencies and risks, and align stakeholders.
- Establish safe and effective practices for AI-assisted coding, including design, code generation, testing, debugging, documentation, review standards, and evaluation criteria.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and design discussions and help senior engineers develop broader technical leadership.
- Partner with DevOps/SRE to support CI/CD, observability, safe deployments, and production operations.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven ownership and delivery of large, complex systems, including modernization of legacy systems and technology stacks.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and shipping AI-driven and agentic AI systems in production or production-like environments.
- History of hands-on technical leadership across teams or domains, mentoring engineers, managing technical risks, and independently driving delivery.
- Expert-level proficiency in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core and modern .NET development.
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design, distributed systems, microservices architectures, and production-quality software.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI processing systems, agentic AI architectures, autonomous workflow execution, tool or function calling, context and memory management, structured outputs, and AI workflow orchestration.
- Experience integrating AI systems with datastores, APIs, and event-driven workflows.
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL, plus working knowledge of NoSQL data stores and caching strategies such as Redis.
- Strong experience with Docker and production containerization, practical Kubernetes experience, and comfort working in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows, along with strong understanding of testing strategies.
- Frontend framework experience such as React or Angular is preferred.
- Nice-to-have experience includes Python, Java, TypeScript, message queues, event streaming, workflow orchestration platforms, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, semantic search, AI evaluation harnesses, prompt/version management, safety checks, governance workflows, high-throughput or real-time SaaS systems, and Agile/Scrum environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
