Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support scalable microservices for Disney’s programmatic advertising platform.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver user-centric advertising features.
- Translate user stories into actionable engineering tasks and own work from development through deployment.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, documentation, and peer support.
- Implement metrics, monitoring, and alerting to improve system observability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and support operational excellence.
- Use automated AI tools in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Java and related frameworks, including Spring Boot and ORMs.
- Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL and Postgres, including schema and query design.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures and algorithms.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience in ad tech, programmatic advertising, or real-time bidding platforms.
- Experience with Spring projects, AWS, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQS.
