Responsibilities
- Evaluate, implement, test, and manage technology solutions.
- Develop architecture strategies, feasibility studies, and integration analyses.
- Gather architecture requirements and ensure compatibility with IT organization and project standards.
- Analyze application architecture, perform risk assessments, and establish appropriate testing environments.
- Develop Python scripts and Python-based websites and work with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Test integration between applications, databases, and external applications.
- Create, publish, and maintain architecture artifacts using organizational tools, repositories, and repository-management processes.
- Prepare client deliverable analysis reports and participate in meetings with VA customers, contract teammates, project teams, and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 10 years of overall information technology experience.
- Software engineering experience including development, integration, architecture analysis, and testing application, database, and external-application integrations.
- Experience working with Oracle or SQL Server in UNIX, VMS, or Windows environments.
- Must be eligible for access to classified information and able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.
- Strong oral and written communication, customer service, independent work, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Oracle Millennium, healthcare, VA, or DoD architecture and engineering; Python, Java, and J2EE applications; HP Quality Center; Rational ClearQuest; and risk-based testing methodologies.
