Base Salary
$243k - $295k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design, architecture, implementation, and operational lifecycle of one or two key data platform frameworks.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, data science, and product engineering teams to align platform capabilities with governance and product requirements.
- Optimize throughput and reliability through work on engine internals, query planning, state management, memory optimization, and serialization efficiency.
- Lead the design and testing of next-generation infrastructure features running on Kubernetes across cloud environments.
- Embed AI/ML capabilities and LLM-based data discovery, generation, and autonomous self-service platform interaction mechanisms.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building, designing, testing, and maintaining production-grade large-scale distributed systems.
- Deep experience with or strong familiarity with at least one or two data infrastructure technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Trino, Druid, Airflow, or Data Catalog and metadata systems.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Go, or Scala and experience writing clean, high-performance backend code.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting large-scale data infrastructure on Kubernetes in AWS or GCP.
- Ability to influence technical direction across teams, mentor engineers, and drive alignment on complex cross-cutting initiatives.
- B.S. equivalent in computer science or sufficient experience.
- Open-source contributions in the data infrastructure ecosystem are preferred.
- Experience operating infrastructure at consumer-internet scale for more than 100 million users is preferred.
