Responsibilities

  • Design, code, debug, document, and suggest solutions for source code and scripts.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and code reviews for development projects.
  • Support production lottery systems as an engineering expert when issues arise.
  • Work independently and collaboratively on complex transaction-processing systems.
  • Lead and mentor other engineers while maintaining high-quality software development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or an acceptable equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of programming experience, preferably with a large-scale transaction-processing system.
  • Experience with procedural application development in C on Linux and low-level programming and debugging with C/C++.
  • Strong knowledge of software design patterns, architecture, shared memory, memory mapping, data structures, binary serialization, multithreading, and SQL.
  • Experience with Proc SQL, Bash shell scripting, Unix tools, and version control systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, independence, and continuous-learning skills.
  • Preferred experience includes JSON/XML parsing, System V IPC, OpenSSL, gSOAP, PostgreSQL, Ruby, Angular, Python, Java, ANSI SQL, SQL Server, T-SQL, TCP/IP socket programming, proprietary protocols, and RESTful consumers.
  • Lottery industry experience is a plus.
